Welcome to the Pogue Mahone Scooter Club website. We hope you like it, and that you will come back and check us out. We are adding new stuff all the time, so bookmark us now! And if any other clubs would like a link, or would link to us, that would be great. Drop us a line and we'll sort it out!.
The club was formed in 2001 from the remnants of the Screaming Dead Scooter Club and the East Lancashire Scooter Association. We are based in Darwen, Lancashire, and our members come from a wide range of backgrounds. We meet on Thursday evening, from 7:30pm in the Catholic Club in the town centre, and despite the name (and our meeting place) we are not Irish, and are not affiliated with any religion.
The club name was taken from the original name of the band 'The Pogues', and is Gaelic for 'Kiss my arse', which sums up the attitude of the club perfectly. We are scooterists who like to ride scooters, plain and simple! We attend many rallies throughout the season, and you will probably spot one of our club members on most rallies. If you have seen Dom on a rally (check the 'our members' page), we are very sorry. He's special!
